Electronic Textile Samples for the TPL Materials Library

Project for
In this freelance project, a series of e-textile samples were created featuring textile-integrated components such as position and temperature sensors, LEDs, and vibration modules. The samples contribute to the Textile Prototyping Lab’s materials library, which serves as a resource for textile designers, students, and professionals interested in textile innovation and development.
All prototypes were developed using the Textile Prototyping Kit by Fraunhofer IZM, which enables the quick and reliable creation of functional e-textile components.
Various manufacturing techniques were applied in the production of the samples, including the use of iron-on textile conductors, hand embroidery, and machine embroidery. Through these approaches, a range of e-textile applications was demonstrated, including sliders, buttons or motion sensing.
